About the award
The top awards of the Biophysical Society of China (BSC), the Shitsan Pai Award and the Shitsan Pai Award for Young Biophysicists were launched to celebrate the society’s 30th anniversary in 2009 and to commemorate its founder Shitsan Pai, a senior academician at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Pai was praised as the people's scientist in honor of his great contributions to the development of Chinese science and technology. The Shitsan Pai International Award was set up in 2013. In 2015 a new medal for the Shitsan Pai Award made of 100 grams of pure gold was adopted.
Liang Dongcai is the winner of the first Shitsan Pai Award in 2009. He is an academician and researcher at the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Lin Kechun is the winner of the second Shitsan Pai Award in 2011. He is a professor at Peking University Health Science Center.
Shi Yigong is the winner of the fourth Shitsan Pai Award in 2015. He is the professor at Tsinghua University and foreign academician at the US's National Academy of Sciences.
Xie Xiaoliang is the winner of the fourth Shitsan Pai Award in 2015. He is the professor at Peking University and academician at the US's National Academy of Sciences.
