The Second Annual Conference of the Chinese Society for Lipid Metabolism and Bioenergetics will be held in Shanghai on April 1-3.

The conference is sponsored by the Chinese Society of Lipid Metabolism and Bioenergetics, Zhongshan Hospital, State Key Laboratory of Genetic Engineering, School of Life Sciences, the Collaborative Innovation Center for Genetics and Development, and Fudan University.

Metabolic disorders including obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and fatty liver disease have been the subject of intense research as their incidence and prevalence continue growing at an alarming rate worldwide.

The mission of the Chinese Society for Lipid Metabolism and Bioenergetics is to advance research

relevant to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of these metabolic disorders.

Note: The registration fee for formal representatives includes collection of papers and abstracts, lunch, banquet for representatives, and tea break. And the registration fee for student representatives includes collection of papers and abstracts, lunch, and tea break.

The conference will receive 200 formal representatives and 400 student representatives at most.

Note:

4. Refund principle

Participants who e-mail the application to the secretariat before Feb 28 will be eligible for a full refund. Participants who apply for the refund before March 15 will pay the handling fee of 500 yuan. The refund application will not be accepted after March 15.

5. Invoice

Representatives who register online will receive invoice by a registered letter. And the invoice will be mailed to representatives who pay on site a month after the conference.

X. Requirements for abstracts

The conference calls for papers and abstracts. The abstracts should be submitted in English and cover detailed information such as the title of the paper, author's information (including author's name, affiliation, email address etc.) and the paper's summary. The submitter's name should be underlined and typed with the standard typeface of Times New Roman, 10 pt font. The title of the abstract should be of the typeface of Arial, 12 pt font. The postcode, address and e-mail address should be italic and typed with the standard typeface of Times New Roman, 10 pt font.

The submission deadline for the abstract and poster falls on Feb 28, 2018.

XI. Requirements for posters

The conference will feature an exhibition of posters. Participants can exchange their ideas of posters for at least an hour during the each day of the event.

The poster should be 1.2m in height and 0.9 in width. A qualified poster should cover information including title, author’s name, address, postcode, the research result and method.

The conference will announce the Excellent Poster Award and the winner will receive an award of 500 yuan.

XII. Awards application

1. Young Investigator Award (2 winners, 3000 yuan per winner)

Eligibility:

① Applicants must be members of Lipid Metabolism and Bioenergetics Subsociety of the Biophysical Society of China.

② Applicants must register for the second annual conference of the Chinese Society for Lipid Metabolism and Bioenergetics.

③ Applicants must be 22-42 years old (as of January 1, 1976).
