The Forum on Science Literacy and Women in Science and Technology and the 11th Forum on Women Scientists were held in Beijing on Sept 18.

Some 350 participants including officials, experts and scholars from UN Women, UN Environment, and research institutions, as well as female representatives from around the world working in the field of science and technology, attended the events.

As leading gatherings focusing on women's roles in improving public science literacy, the events aim to promote equality for women in science and technology and the building of a community for a shared future.

A total of 14 women scientists were invited to share their experience in scientific research and discuss the latest scientific technologies.

The discussions were expected to encourage more young women to learn about science and consider working in scientific fields.
