The 7th International Ion Channel Conference – which opened in Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, in Zhejiang province on June 16 – is set to conclude on June 20 and features renowned scientists and academicians from the US, UK, Canada and Australia.

Ion channels are membrane proteins that modulate the flux of ions across cell membranes, and play fundamental roles in a variety of functions throughout the body.

Leading scientists and academics from other countries are also attending the conference, which includes plenary lectures, reports and poster exhibitions.

Attendees will discuss topics focused on ion channel research.

The conference is an academic event organized by scientists from home and aboard biennially. Organizers said that it aims to offer an international and high-level platform for experts, scholars and researchers in ion channels so they can exchange ideas and learn about the latest scientific achievements.

It has been held in cities of Dalian, Harbin, Shanghai, Shi Jiazhuan, Luzhou, and in the port city of Qingdao.
