Liu Zhenfeng, born in Fuqing, Fujian province, works as a principal investigator at the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Liu graduated with a bachelor's degree from the Department of Biology at Xiamen University in 1998 and received his Ph.D. in Biophysics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2004. He participated in the Young Thousand Talents Program in 2011.
Liu mainly focuses on membrane protein structural biology. His lab investigates the structure and functions of membrane proteins from a variety of biological systems by employing techniques such as X-ray crystallography and Cryo-electron Microscopy (among others).
