The Cryo-electron Microscopy Academic Subgroup of the Biophysical Society of China (BSC) honored scientists for their contributions to the field of cryo-electronic microscopy (Cryo-EM) during the Sixth National Cryo-electron Microscopy and Structure Biology Seminar held in Beijing on June 19.

Wang Hongwei, president of the School of Life Sciences at Tsinghua University, was honored with an Outstanding Contribution Award for his work in promoting research on Cryo-EM in China and other Asian countries.

The panel of judges from BSC's Cryo-electron Microscopy Academic Subgroup spoke highly of Wang’s research on Cryo-EM during the award ceremony.

Professor Wang also gave a lecture titled From Biology to Methodology in Cryo-EM during the event.

The Outstanding Contribution Award, established by BSC's Cryo-electron Microscopy Academic Subgroup in 2017, aims to recognize Chinese scientists that make pioneering efforts in developing Cryo-EM in China, including those promoting the application of Cryo-EM research and training people in the area.
