Nanobiology young scientists forum held in Henan
Updated: 2019-11-15
A forum for young scientists studying nano-biotechnology and nano-medicine was held in Kaifeng, Henan province on Nov 2-3.
The forum was the 384th China Young Scientist Forum co-hosted by various institutes and organizations, including the Nanobiology Academic Committee of Biophysical Society of China (BSC) and the China Association for Science and Technology.
Almost 20 internationally esteemed scientists and experts were invited to present reports on their latest studies in the areas of nano-biotechnology and nano-medicine.
Huang Yuanyu, secretary-general of the Nanobiology Academic Committee of BSC, announced the establishment of the Secretariat of Nanobiology Academic Committee of BSC in Henan University at the forum.
Nanobiology is a rapidly advancing interdisciplinary field that bridges physical sciences with biology and medicine by integrating chemistry tools. Unlike nanotechnology, nanobiology is characterized by the interplay between physics, materials science, synthetic organic chemistry, as well as engineering and biology.
It has immense potential to revolutionaize medical research by combining the tools, ideas and materials of nanoscience and biology to probe biological problems that can be solved by nanotechnology.
The China Young Scientist Forum was first established in 1995 by the China Association for Science and Technology and has since continued to be an event that provides a platform for young scientists and academics from different fields to exchange ideas.
