Biophysical Society of China member wins Gu Xiaocheng award

Zhong Bo, a professor from Wuhan University and member of the Biophysical Society of China (BSC), was awarded the 2020 Gu Xiaocheng Lecture award by the Gu Xiaocheng Memorial Fund, according to a July 27 statement on the BSC's WeChat public account.

BSC officials said the Gu Xiaocheng Lecture award was established in 2012 to commend and encourage young life sciences researchers working in China, to strive to become future leaders in the field.

Zhong, who received his doctorate from the College of Life Sciences of Wuhan University in 2010, attended the MD Anderson Cancer Center at the University of Texas in the United States for his postdoctoral research.

He returned to China in 2013 and joined the College of Life Sciences at Wuhan University as a professor and doctoral supervisor.

Zhong is now also a part-time professor at the Medical Research Institute and a member of the Frontier Science Center for Immunology and Metabolism at Wuhan University.
