Biophysical Society of China acts to support young talent
Updated: 2020-08-04
Since the start of its youth talent support program in 2015, the Biophysical Society of China (BSC) has established a set procedure for selecting, training and evaluating young people -- and has gradually expanded the program into its existing personnel training system, according to BSC officials.
It has developed an in-house personnel training system that conforms to the precepts of scientific development and suits China's conditions and has also realized innovations in its staff training in the field of life sciences.
The BSC has also actively explored the development of an employee support platform involving the selection, training and evaluation of young scientific and technological personnel. Between 2015 and 2019, 17 candidates were recommended by the society, of whom 11 young scholars received project funding.
At the 15th and 17th Chinese Biophysics Conferences in 2017 and 2019, the society successfully held a sub-forum about the young talent support program -- which creates exchanges and display platforms for younger people.
This program was initiated by the Chinese Association of Science and Technology in 2015. It aims to help young scientific and tech people make outstanding achievements in their golden period of creativity.
It also aims to enable them to strive to grow into academic and technology leaders with an excellent moral character, outstanding professional ability, strong sense of social responsibility and an international vision.
This is so they can become leaders in the main fields of science and technology in the country and drivers in innovation.
