The global development of science and technology has begun to focus more on biology, life and human health. The investment and attention to related fields are unprecedented, and sci-tech development has shown a multi-disciplinary and multi-dimensional trend with features of crossover, fusion and iteration.

Established in November, 2020, at the 18th Chinese Biophysics Congress, the Terahertz Biophysics Academic Subgroup of the Biophysical Society of China (BSC) plans to hold its first annual conference from April 23 to 25 in North China's Tianjin.

The conference will invite well-renowned academicians, experts and scholars to give reports on the latest research progress, cutting-edge theories and technologies in terahertz biophysics and related fields, and organize parallel sessions as well as themed forums for in-depth exchanges between participants.

The terahertz (THz) is a unit of electromagnetic (EM) wave frequency equal to one trillion hertz, and terahertz technology has been hailed as "one to change the future of the world" and "one to bring a revolution to physics and chemistry".

New scientific theories, technologies and industries are being conceived and developed in the magic EM wave. Among them, the "THz biomedicine" and "THz biophysics" have become current research hotspots in the sector, catching the eyes of experts, scholars and young students from different areas.

Out of respect for academic freedom, innovation and development, the academic event will set eight themed sessions to give more platforms to conferees for cooperation and exchanges, and arrange invited lectures, verbal reports and poster presentations.

Students and scholars who have achieved excellent research results in THz biophysics in recent years will be recognized and rewarded at the event.
