Introduction to the team leader: 

Dr Huang Xiaoshuai obtained a bachelor’s degree in optical information science and technology from Wuhan University, in 2013, and a doctor’s degree in biophysics from Peking University, in 2018. He engaged in postdoctoral research at the Institute of Molecular Medicine of Peking University from 2018 to 2020. 

Huang has been committed to researching new microscopic imaging technologies for living cells and in-vivo imaging. He has developed fast long-range Hessian structured illumination microscopy, super-resolution fluorescence assisted optical diffraction tomography microscopes, and rapid volumetric imaging with Bessel-Beam three-photon microscopy. His research results have been published in academic journals such as Nature Biotechnology, Light: Science& Applications, and Nature Communications. 

Huang has worked as an assistant professor and doctoral supervisor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering of Peking University since October 2020. Post-doctorate (three positions)

Requirements:

1. Have (within the recent two years in principle) or will have a doctoral degree, be of good moral character, be in good health, and be under the age of 35;

2. Have a background in optics, biomedical engineering, image processing, cell biology, biophysics or related fields;

3. Have experience in publishing papers in international mainstream journals as the first author;

4. Have adequate experimental skills, English communication and writing abilities, and be able to be a project leader as well as conduct research independently;

Treatment:

1. The post-doctorate enjoys an annual salary and living allowance of 460,000 yuan ($70,967.34), which includes a pre-tax payment of 280,000 yuan (including five social insurances and one housing fund) given by the hospital, and a post-doctoral living allowance of 180,000 yuan provided by the local government of Shenzhen;

Research assistant/technician

Requirements: 

1. Bachelor’s degree (associate degree) or above in biology, basic medicine, pharmacy, or related disciplines; have a good command of conventional experimental techniques (PCR, WB, cell culture, etc.); those with experience in animal experiments are preferred; 

2. Good English communication and writing skills, a team spirit, and coordination abilities; 

3. Good learning ability and willingness to assist in team projects.

2. Peking University Health Science Center possesses excellent disciplines, teaching resources and scientific research platforms. In recent years, the postdoctoral treatment has been greatly improved by the broadening of funding channels and the increase in places. The center has also encouraged post-doctorate fellows to produce outstanding academic achievements by strengthening its process management and launching evaluations.

3. Compensation and benefits: 

The pre-tax annual income of an ordinary full-time post-doc is about 210,000 yuan (including provident fund), and the pre-tax annual income of a Boya post-doc is about 270,000 yuan (including provident fund). 

The basic annual salary of appointees who rated “outstanding” in their evaluation will be increased by 20,000 yuan. 

Project remuneration will be paid by tutors to excellent post-docs.

In accordance with the relevant national regulations and stipulations of the university, the research group will pay for the social insurance and provident fund of appointees.

4. Housing: Post-docs are eligible to apply for apartments in sequence, the rent of which will be paid based on the market price. 

5. Fund applications: Post-docs are encouraged to apply for various research funds or reward funds, such as the Hong Kong Scholars Fellowship Scheme, the China-Germany Postdoctoral Exchange Fellowship Program, the International Postdoctoral Exchange Fellowship Program (including Talent-Introduction Program, Talent-Dispatching Program and Talent-Exchange Program), the Postdoctoral Innovation Talents Support Program, as well as for funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation.
