The event was jointly undertaken by Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU), Xi'an University of Technology, Xidian University, the Air Force Medical University, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and the Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
The annual conference, which adhered to the principles of academic freedom, innovation and development, aimed to promote exchanges in and development of terahertz biophysics and terahertz bio-technology.
The gathering consisted of eight parallel sessions focused on terahertz sources, terahertz detectors, terahertz biophysics, terahertz biomedicine, terahertz imaging, biological effects of terahertz, high-field terahertz and optics, and development and application prospects for terahertz science and technology.
It brought together over 280 experts and scholars from domestic universities, research institutes, academic associations and sci-tech companies, who held in-depth exchanges in the development and application of terahertz science and technology.
Liu Guozhi, an academician with CAS, acted as chairman of the conference. CAS academicians Lu Jianhua, Xu Zongben and Guan Xiaohong, and Jiang Zhuangde, an academician with the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), were co-chairs of the event.
