The seventh meeting of the first editorial committee of Biophysics Reports was held in Beijing on Mar 2. The meeting was chaired by Xu Tao, president of the Biophysical Society of China (BSC) and chief editor of the journal.

The meeting summarized the publication, contribution solicitation, article citation and income and expenditure of Biophysics Reports in 2022, and discussed its development plans for the year 2023. Biophysics Reports aims to be included as an Emerging Sources Citation Index journal, to issue special editions and reach more readers in 2023.

Members of the editorial committee analyzed existing problems, put forward their expectations for the journal, and determined the task of soliciting contributions for this year's special issue.

Xu encouraged the editorial board to seize opportunities and improve the quality of the journal in all areas.

Biophysics Reports is the official publication of the BSC. Under the administration of the China Association for Science and Technology, it is co-sponsored by the BSC and the Institute of Biophysics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. As an English journal open to global readers, it mainly focuses on novel theories, technologies and methods in life sciences, offering a global exchange platform for China’s research in bioscientific technologies and methods.
