The 2023 Forum on Helping Our Motherland through Elite Intellectual Resources from Overseas Program (HOME Program) was held in Changchun, capital of Jilin province, on April 26.

Hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the forum was themed on “Gathering the Strength of HOME Experts and Building a Highland for Talents".

At the opening ceremony of the forum, Liu Tiemin, deputy secretary-general and a council member of the Biophysical Society of China (BSC), and 17 newly selected experts received their letters of appointment.

Thanks to the joint efforts made by the CAST, academic societies across the country, and distinguished experts and partners of the HOME Program, the program has become an important platform by which the CAST can serve and link overseas scientists to develop in China, said Luo Hui, an official with the association.

In the future, the CAST will continue to step up efforts in the HOME Program, strengthen cooperation, create a benign ecosystem for talent development, and gather talents from all over the world, Luo added. 

The BSC has fulfilled its responsibility to promote the growth of scientific and technological personnel since its establishment, providing backup talents in support of the high-quality development of biophysics.

In 2022, the society recommended experts for the HOME Program and seven members were selected as distinguished experts of the program, employed from January 2023 to December 2025.
