Chinese Biophysics Congress concludes with success

The 20th Chinese Biophysics Congress came to a successful conclusion in Changsha, Hunan province, on July 23. 

The event attracted more than 1,500 participants, including scholars and students, and gathered 50 exhibitors. It listened to eight keynote speakers and organized 36 academic sessions. 

During the five-day congress, attendees had the opportunity to view captivating presentations given by 279 experts from prestigious universities and research institutions across the country.

The congress offered four themed forums covering a wide range of topics, including the exchange of research achievements among female scientists, innovation and entrepreneurship for researchers, career planning for young scholars, and scientific writing for journals. 

These forums provided a multidimensional platform for participants to interact and collaborate, fostering opportunities for communication and cooperation among science and technology professionals at different stages of their careers.

This year, the congress continued its commitment to promote science outreach across online platforms. The event featured a three-day virtual science carnival, engaging participants in a series of informative and entertaining activities. 

One of the highlights was the "Visit to Yuelu Academy", an event that manifested the spirit of scientists. The congress also expanded the reach of its Outstanding Forum for Middle School Students, providing substantial support for enhancing scientific literacy among youngsters. 

Additionally, the online congress integrated academic discussions with science outreach and enriched the format of science communication. Seven interactive scientific sessions were broadcast by 12 media outlets and across multiple platforms, garnering a cumulative viewership of 1.96 million over 14.5 hours.

The event received 317 abstract submissions and 83 poster presentations. Five submitters, namely Zhang Chunlei, Hu Kexin, Tan Shunqing, Zhang Qi, and Pang Xiaoyun, were honored with the Outstanding Poster Award.
