Session 10-2: Molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases

China’s population is rapidly aging. With a continuous increase in the elderly population, this will cause significant impacts on future socio-economic development.
Aging is the greatest risk factor for the onset of neurodegenerative diseases. However, how aging transforms into neurodegenerative diseases remains a global challenge. Existing clinical treatment methods, while varying in effectiveness for symptom control, cannot effectively slow the progression of the diseases. Therefore, uncovering key points in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases is of utmost importance.
This session on molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases invites distinguished scholars in the field to share their latest research findings and explore the cellular and molecular basis as well as the epigenetic regulations of brain aging and neurodegenerative diseases.
The aim is to investigate the regulatory factors in the transformation from healthy aging to neurodegenerative diseases, providing theoretical and practical bases for delaying aging and for the early clinical diagnosis of and intervention in neurodegenerative diseases.
