Session 5: Radiation and human health

Updated: 2024-07-22

As nuclear technology finds widespread applications in such fields as medicine, industry and energy, ionizing radiation has permeated various aspects of people's lives. From national nuclear safety systems and medical rescue systems for nuclear emergency to radiation therapy and the Fukushima nuclear wastewater discharge, ionizing radiation has become deeply intertwined with people’s daily life.

This session focuses on the mechanisms of and protection against ionizing radiation damage, tumor radiotherapy, radiation health, electromagnetic radiation biology and other frontier scientific issues.

Renowned domestic scholars are invited to conduct academic exchanges and discussions, and popular science activities related to radiation and the environment are organized alongside the conference.

Through academic exchanges, the session aims to promote disciplinary development and support the growth of young talents.
