Wang Xiangxi

Wang Xiangxi, a PhD holder, currently serves as a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Biophysics and as deputy director of the National Laboratory of Biomacromolecules. He is also a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars.

Wang's research team addresses China’s major public health needs by elucidating the processes of viral infection and immune response mechanisms, and applies cutting-edge technologies and scientific findings to vaccine development.

The team’s research achievements were recognized as top 10 scientific advances in China in 2019 and 2022, as China’s top 10 science and technology news in 2019 and as China’s top 10 advances in life sciences in 2018.

The honors Wang has received include the China Youth Science and Technology Award, the CAS Young Scientist Award, the innovation award of the C.C. Tan Life Science Award and the Zhong Nanshan Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award.
