Forums on microfluidics conclude in Hangzhou

The 11th China Microfluidics High-end Academic Forum took place in Hangzhou, East China’s Zhejiang province, on Sept 21. 

Ye Jiaming, secretary-general of the Microfluidic System Subgroup of the Biophysical Society of China (BSC), presided over the opening ceremony. 

Distinguished guests delivering opening addresses at the ceremony included Liu Pingsheng, director-general of the BSC; Lin Bingcheng, researcher at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Wang Xinlai, an official with the Xiaoshan Innovation Polis; and Lin Jinming, president of the BSC Microfluidic System Subgroup and professor at Tsinghua University. 

The forum included a plenary lecture session, which captivated the audience and sparked in-depth discussions, as participants engaged in lively exchanges with the five speakers. 

It also featured seven sub-forums on studies and applications of microfluidic technology in life and health, with 70 distinguished experts from academic and research institutions sharing the latest advancements in microfluidic technology and its utilization.

Thirty-seven sponsors and exhibitors showcased their products, as well as advanced technologies related to the microfluidics industry. More than 500 participants gathered to witness the integration of microfluidic technology with fields such as point-of-care testing, biomedicine, in vitro diagnostics, microreactors and cell sorting. 

On Sept 22, the fourth International Microfluidics Industry Forum was held concurrently, where 12 industry experts from around the world presented on the current applications of microfluidic technology across various sectors. They also discussed future breakthroughs expected in the microfluidics industry.
