Year-end Review of the Biophysical Society of China II

Updated: 2026-01-21

In 2025, the Biophysical Society of China (BSC) advanced development through the "Party Building Plus" model by strengthening political guidance via academic exchanges, science popularization practices, and promotional guidance. BSC successfully completed its leadership transition, deepened cooperation with international journals, and enhanced regional exchanges. It organized 32 academic conferences, established a platform for industry-academia-research integration, and supported the cultivation of young talent.

As 2026 begins, BSC remains committed to its professional mission, collaborating with colleagues to explore new opportunities and advance the industry to new heights.

3 Global collaboration

In 2025, the Biophysical Society of China (BSC) focused on enhancing international academic collaboration and leading in cutting-edge research through two main pathways: deepening cooperation with top-tier international journals and building regional and bilateral academic exchange mechanisms.

Strengthening international journal collaborations

BSC organized the Metabolic Biology—Cell Press Joint Conference and the 8th BSC Metabolic Biology Symposium, as well as the Nature AI Biology Conference, to reinforce its leadership in academic services and frontier research.

4 Academic exchange initiatives

Under the theme "Integrity and Innovation, Eco-Empowerment," BSC hosted 32 academic conferences, featuring over 2,500 high-level academic reports and attracting 11,000 participants. These events aimed to strengthen the professional influence of focused meetings and enhance the impact of academic achievements on the industry and society, creating a multidimensional academic hub connecting research, industry, and the public.

Consolidating brand conferences

BSC emphasized addressing major scientific issues, emerging interdisciplinary directions, and technological trends to ensure conference content represents the highest academic standards and cutting-edge developments.

Aligning with national strategies

Focusing on national blueprints like "Building a Strong Technological Nation," BSC aimed to integrate basic research discoveries with industrial technology needs, accelerating innovation.

Fostering young talent

Brand conferences included special sessions for young scientists, providing opportunities to showcase research and receive support, thus identifying and nurturing future academic leaders.

2025 Biophysics Conference Highlights

Eight leading life science scholars delivered keynote speeches, fostering deep intellectual exchanges. The conference featured 37 academic topics with 253 distinguished scholars, 308 abstracts, and poster presentations. It attracted more than 1.18 million online viewers over 6.6 hours and provided a platform for 36 leading life science companies to launch new products and technologies.

2025 Branch Academic Meetings

Notable events included the National Terahertz Biophysics Annual Meeting, the 5th National Modern Biophysical Methods and Techniques Symposium, and the 4th National Symposium on Biomolecular Phase Separation and Transition, among others.
