4. Workshop for Women in Biophysics

The Workshop for Women in Biophysics was hosted by the BSC’s Female Scientists Committee, which aims to unify female scientists and technicians engaged in life science research, help their career development and tap the organizational leadership of female scientists.

The theme of the workshop in 2019 was "focus on scientific research and health", which was presided over by Chen Chunying, secretary general of BSC's Female Scientists Committee.

5. Forum on female researchers' scientific research experience and life experience

As a special event to mark International Women's Day, a forum was held on March 8, 2019 and five female scientists were invited as guests to talk about their scientific research experience and life perception with other participating female researchers.

6. Build a platform for scientific and technological workers to improve rapidly

The BSC has continued to follow its general idea of establishing a complete set of talent selection, talent training and talent evaluation processes through the implementation of a talent promotion project. This aims to gradually expand the existing talent training system, build a set of scientific talent training systems in line with the law of scientific development and China's national conditions, as well as realize the innovation of a talent training mechanism in the field of life science. It has carried on active exploration in the areas of platform construction, selection, training and the evaluation of young scientific and technological talent.

In five rounds of selections for a youth researcher training and growth plan, 17 candidates were recommended by the society and a total of 11 young scholars secured funding for their research projects.
