2. Combined new media with traditional forms to promote science
(1). Dr. Guo Jianjun, president of the BSC's Sports Medicine Academic Subgroup, has repeatedly delivered sports medicine lectures in various health segments on CCTV and on local TV stations, to promote the health of the general public and the integration of sports medicine and medicine.
(2). Researcher Lei Hao, director of the BSC's Biological Magnetic Resonance Academic Subgroup, conducted a science report on online games addiction for teachers and students at a middle school in Wuhan. Lei presented his report through a smart classroom network connection, simultaneously broadcasting live to students at three other middle schools.
(3). During the 17th Chinese Biophysical Congress, the BSC broadcast live science talks, on the theme of Human Aging and Health.
(4). Many BSC's subgroups and academic committee have now opened their own public WeChat accounts to use new media forms to promote science.
3. Science popularization bases
(1). On May 18, last year, the BSC and the CAS' Institute of Biophysics jointly organized a unique large-scale science promotion activity: the Public Open Day of the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
(2). A new science education base was set up at Huasheng Experimental School in Linyi city, in East China's Shandong province, on Sept 26, 2019. Leaders and experts from the BSC, the Chinese Society for Cognitive Science (CSCS) and CAS’s Institute of Biophysics attended the unveiling ceremony and presented two science promotion reports.
(3). On Oct 23, 2019, the BSC held an event at the science promotion center at Suzhou No.10 High School in Suzhou, in East China's Jiangsu province. Liu Pingsheng, a researcher at the CAS Institute of Biophysics, presented a report on the topic of "Life Science and Public Health". Nearly 200 students and teachers attended the lecture.
